| For efficient fireproofing, holes through walls and floors must be considered. Particular attention must be paid to synthetic pipes, since they carry fire and smoke from one compartment to another. PVC and PE starts to soften at 100.115 ºC. Therefore, an opening is created in a wall or floor of the compartment quickly, allowing flames or smoke to pass through. An intumescent hose counteracts this effect. At a temperature of 140-160ºC it begins to react under the influence of heat, by expanding and obstructing the pipe, thus preventing smoke and fire from passing through. The seal is resistant to smoke and fire for up to 4 hours.
