Application

Southwest Type 5GP is wet applied with a worm gear machine. To be able to carry out the application we must prepare the surface and put mesh in place if the constructive design so requires.

First of all, we must check that the surface is free of oil, grease, dust or any other substance that could prevent the correct adherence of the system. After checking the surface, a primer is used if required and approved by the UL design to be used. For application on concrete structures with or without paint/primer and galvanized steel, it is necessary to first apply A/D TC-55 Adhesive (100 microns) or Southwest Type DK3 (Spatter coat) to improve adherence.

Depending on the thickness of application, the product will be sprayed in one or more layers, not exceeding 12.5-16 mm for the first layer. The time between layers should be between 4 and 24 hours without an accelerator and 5-20 minutes with an accelerator.

Southwest Type 5GP allows smoothed finishing with a trowel to improve aesthetics.
