Pyrocrete mortar 241

The Pyrocrete 241 mortar is a high-density, cement-based product developed specifically for passive fire protection in building and industry under UL standards.

This solution is tested at Underwriters Laboratories Inc., United States, according to different testing procedures under UL standards. It has designs under both UL 263 (building) and UL 1709 (industry). It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

This mortar is fire resistant for up to 240 minutes.

Pyrocrete 241 is applied using the wet method, with a worm gear machine. To be able to carry out the application we must prepare the surface and put mesh in place if the constructive design so requires.

First of all, we must check that the surface is free of oil, grease, dust or any other substance that could prevent the correct adherence of the system. After checking the surface, a primer is used if required. No primer is required for application on galvanized steel, but if required, contact the technical department to use a primer that is compatible.

Depending on the thickness of application, the product will be sprayed in one or more layers, not exceeding 12.5 mm for the first layer. The time between layers should be between 1-2 hours and should not exceed 24 hours.

The Pyrocrete 241 mortar can be smoothed for improved aesthetics and can be finished using paint, applying a coat of Carboguard 1340 plus the subsequent application of an additional coat of Carbothane 134 Series.
